Vevor Removable Truck Rack – (The Continuing Adventures of Paul’s Canoe)

I wanted something for hauling a canoe or sometimes a ladder that didn’t need to stay on the truck. Its “okay” for the price. I think they say it’s good for 800 lbs. I’m skeptical, but it should be okay for the canoe I plan to carry on it. In retrospect I think I would be happier with a semi permanently mounted headache rack in the front and a removable rack in the rear. The “universal” fit is a decent. It allows them to make one the same for nearly any truck. That keeps the price down. It also makes it a little less rigid than an application built rack for a particular truck. On the other hand this was pretty cheap, and only took a couple hours to assemble and install. It would have taken the better part of a day to fabricate my own, and then more time and waiting to paint. Like I said its “okay” for the price, but you could certainly make something better.

I’ll be able to remove or install it with an air ratchet or cordless drill fairly quickly. Maybe ten minutes. I spent longer installing the hooks I hang it from when not in use than I spent removing it from the truck.
