Week Old Fishing Report

Yeah, its been longer than that since I posted anything about local fishing, but I got out last week.  It was just another day in our local fishing paradise, but nothing spectacular.

I missed one flipping an RT45 creature bait, and then I missed one on a 4″ Club-O.  Finally I stuck a couple on 5″ Square Back Minnow, and then it was slow for a while until I got on a steady bite chunking a Curly Buzz Frog junior.  I missed a few, but boated 8 or 9 on the frog.

We took my boat so I got to fish the frog just the way I wanted to at the speed I like fishing it.  I’ve certainly caught plenty of fish out of the back of the boat on the Curly Buzz Frog, but there is something to be said for fishing at your own pace.

My partner stuck a couple on bladed jigs early, and maybe one or two on a stick worm (I forget), but what surprised me more than anything is while I was one a steady bite with the Curly Buzz Frog Jr he didn’t get a single riser on a Rico or a Rio Rico popper.  Usually if there is any topwater action a popper will work, but not that trip.

I was going to try to get out today, but I’ve had a custom mold design just kicking my _____ all afternoon.
